Right in the middle of her forehead.”   Is anyone else familiar with that poem?  We used to say it all the time to our little girl when she was about this age.  She always had one curl that seemed to hang right in the middle of her forehead if it wasn’t pulled back with a barrette!  Little Miss M reminds me of her!  Isn’t she just beautiful?  In fact, she comes from a long line of  pretty people!!  They are not only outwardly beautiful, but have the hearts to match.  We did this session at this little one’s great-grandparents and they were such a sweet inspiration.  I am so glad I got to meet them!

This weeks clothes are courtesy of LaBella Flora Children’s Boutique.  And, yes, it’s all about the girls!  I have to admit that I do adore little girls’ clothing! (Much to my husband’s dismay!).  We will concentrate on the little guys next week.

I have recently had several parents ask for suggestions on where to shop for their portrait session, and this is GREAT!  Please do ask!  I have several links to head you in the right direction.  I also love it when a parent comes to a session with a trunk full of clothes to choose from.  There are often times when it is hard to envision how certain clothing will photograph and I will be happy to help with that.  For instance, my little girl always has a bow in her hair to go to school, but I will rarely photograph her with a bow.  It just doesn’t fit my style!

I also try to bring fun accessories with me and I do have a selection of clothes for the 6 and under crowd to wear also.  I was chatting with a group of my best girlfriends recently and they relayed how great it would be to have me dress their children for their sessions - I would love this!  I would be more than willing to style a session and welcome the opportunity!  Don’t be afraid to ask.  I won’t bite, I promise!

; )

How can you not fall in love with these girls?  I had such a great time at this session!  We were there a good two hours, and the time flew by.  We played and danced and managed to take some pictures in between time!  Their parents were just as beautiful and gracious as the two little ones too.  I have to give it to Mom and Dad too - they rolled right with the punches and didn’t pressure the girls or rush them (or me) and it really pays off in the end.  They will have wonderful memories to treasure from now on!

Look at this sweet little face!  Is she not just adorable?  And, quite the little trooper too!  While I was bundled up in my sweater and coat, she did just fine in her beautiful sweater with barely a complaint at all.  We were actually feeling bad for her towards the end, but she kept plugging right along.  What a sweetie!

It’s one of my favorite sessions for so many reasons.  First of all, the kids themselves.  These are my best friend’s little ones and aren’t they precious?  I love them so!  Second, their mom gave me 100% freedom to do with them as I please - what could make a photographer happier?  Seriously, gorgeous kids and I was able to style them from head to toe, it really doesn’t get a whole better than that.  And, lastly, this session results were a complete surprise to their parents.  They knew it was taking place, but they had no idea how they were dressed or how it went!  I’m not sure who is happier with the results - them or me!  And, you know what else?  They are truly grateful (and quick).   Love you guys!
