I have been dying to share this session with you!  I am over-the-moon happy for this couple!  The proud daddy was one of my brother’s best friends and will always hold a special place in my family’s heart and this beautiful mama is one of the nicest and most gracious people you will ever be blessed to meet!  I know there will be many people watching this little one grow.  I don’t make a practice of sharing client’s names, but I wish I could on this one - it fits so perfectly!

These were taken in a span of a little over 3 weeks.  Isn’t God amazing?

Dori Davis: You are SOOO sweet and you are AMAZING at what you do! Thank you so much for capturing our little angel better than anyone!!! We love ya'll!

Wendy Beck: Great pictures Dori. She is so sweet!

Martha Melton: These pictures are wonderful. Ludi Mae looks like an angel, just like her mommy. :o)

Kathy Whitaker: These pictures are beautiful! But then she had beautiful subjects!

Wendy Russell: How precious!! she is soo sweet like her mama!

Right in the middle of her forehead.”   Is anyone else familiar with that poem?  We used to say it all the time to our little girl when she was about this age.  She always had one curl that seemed to hang right in the middle of her forehead if it wasn’t pulled back with a barrette!  Little Miss M reminds me of her!  Isn’t she just beautiful?  In fact, she comes from a long line of  pretty people!!  They are not only outwardly beautiful, but have the hearts to match.  We did this session at this little one’s great-grandparents and they were such a sweet inspiration.  I am so glad I got to meet them!

And, I am so glad I was able to capture this - she had just learned to walk a week or so before the session!

This weeks clothes are courtesy of LaBella Flora Children’s Boutique.  And, yes, it’s all about the girls!  I have to admit that I do adore little girls’ clothing! (Much to my husband’s dismay!).  We will concentrate on the little guys next week.

I have recently had several parents ask for suggestions on where to shop for their portrait session, and this is GREAT!  Please do ask!  I have several links to head you in the right direction.  I also love it when a parent comes to a session with a trunk full of clothes to choose from.  There are often times when it is hard to envision how certain clothing will photograph and I will be happy to help with that.  For instance, my little girl always has a bow in her hair to go to school, but I will rarely photograph her with a bow.  It just doesn’t fit my style!

I also try to bring fun accessories with me and I do have a selection of clothes for the 6 and under crowd to wear also.  I was chatting with a group of my best girlfriends recently and they relayed how great it would be to have me dress their children for their sessions - I would love this!  I would be more than willing to style a session and welcome the opportunity!  Don’t be afraid to ask.  I won’t bite, I promise!

; )

How can you not fall in love with these girls?  I had such a great time at this session!  We were there a good two hours, and the time flew by.  We played and danced and managed to take some pictures in between time!  Their parents were just as beautiful and gracious as the two little ones too.  I have to give it to Mom and Dad too - they rolled right with the punches and didn’t pressure the girls or rush them (or me) and it really pays off in the end.  They will have wonderful memories to treasure from now on!

Seriously love these outfits, and want to cry because my little one is too big for these!  If she were about 2 years old, I would be all over these - you should too!  You can find them at RaeGun who has so graciously let us use her images.  Thanks Marissa!

Some of you who know me may have heard me whining telling you about how my hard drive crashed on me.  It has been absolutely no fun AT ALL!  I am typically very good at keeping all my back-ups current, so the majority of what I need is there, it has just been all my emails, passwords, software, etc that I have to reload/relearn.  So, my public service announcement to you is back up your computer - NOW!!

Be patient as I play catch up and get all the recent sessions up to date and posted.  Also, be on the lookout for pictures of the new studio/office!  I absolutely cannot wait to share it with you!  We will be hosting an open house and grand opening in the next few weeks too.  We will have food, giveaways and of course, stop by to see the new digs!

And, what’s a post without a picture!  Something I pulled off an old hard drive - an oldie but goody!

Happy weekend to you!

Look at those lips!  Oh my!  Don’t you just want to kiss them?  She was such a wonderful, sleepy newborn.  Her parents were so great to schedule pictures early!  It truly does make all the difference in newborn photography - the earlier the better!  Those sleepy, curly newborn days are quickly fleeting and it is such a treasure to have these portraits of their first days.

If you are interested in newborn portraits, remember that the first two weeks are optimal.  Shoot me an email when you are in your third trimester so that I can get you penciled in.  You will be so glad you did!

Now, without further ado, meet Miss K:
